Imanvi Ismail, who is working alongside Prabhas in Fauji, has become the subject of several claims circulating on social media. Some users have alleged that the actress is half Pakistani, with old posts and stories being shared online to support the claims about her family background.
One of the posts reportedly shows Imanvi’s mother and father standing together while holding the flags of India and Pakistan. The actress is said to have shared the post several years ago while wishing people on Independence Day. Another post reportedly refers to an India-Pakistan cricket match, in which Imanvi allegedly mentioned which of the two teams she supported.
However, it has not been confirmed whether these posts were actually shared by Prabhas’ co-star.
Imanvi had also made headlines last year during the Pahalgam terror attack, when demands for a ban on Pakistani artists were being raised. Her name had emerged during the controversy, with people putting pressure on the team behind Prabhas’ film Fauji to remove the actress from the project.
Imanvi subsequently rejected the claims and issued a lengthy post addressing the controversy. In her statement, she described herself as an Indian-American-born actress and said she had no connection to Pakistan.
She also stated that her parents hold American citizenship. Imanvi further said that she could speak almost every language spoken in India and described herself as completely Indian.
The actress first gained recognition through her dance videos on social media. In 2023, she created a reel featuring the song Tum Tum, which went viral and led to a significant increase in her fan following.
The popularity of the viral song helped her secure a role in Prabhas’ film Fauji, marking her entry into the film industry.
